Salisbury Steak

Ingredients:
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • ¼ c. chopped onion
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 egg
  • ½ c. bread crumbs
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ lb. hamburger
Preparation:
  1. Brown onion in melted butter.  Cool slightly.
  2. Beat together 1/3 c. undiluted soup and egg.
  3. Stir in bread crumbs and salt. Let sit 5 minutes.
  4. Add onion and beef and mix well. 
  5. Shape in 6 ½ inch patties.
  6. Place in lightly greased pan.  Bake 30 minutes at 350 ˚F.
  7. Drain off fat.
  8. Blend together remaining soup and water, pour over patties.  Bake additional 10 minutes.
