Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2/3 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1 envelope dried onion soup mix
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 ½ c. spaghetti sauce
- 1 can (7 oz) mushrooms
- 1 c. (4 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese
- *Serve with spaghetti noodles
Preparation:
- Beat egg and water in shallow bowl.
- In another bowl, combine the bread crumbs, soup mix, and pepper.
- Dip chicken in egg mixture then coat with crumb mixture.
- Place in greased 13 x 9 in. pan.
- Bake uncovered, at 400˚F for 22-25 minutes or until juices run clear.
- Combine spaghetti sauce and mushrooms in a small bowl and spoon over chicken. Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake 5-7 minutes longer or until sauce is bubbly and cheese is melted.
- Serve over pasta.
Yields 6 servings.
